Pelvic floor condition
Pregnancy
Prepare your body. Don’t just endure.
Pregnancy is not just something to get through. Pelvic floor PT helps you support your body, reduce pain, and prepare for a smoother birth and faster postpartum recovery.
“What you do during pregnancy sets the foundation for how you recover after. We’d love to be part of that journey.”
Pregnancy & the pelvic floor
An opportunity to prepare, not just endure.
Pregnancy is a time of incredible change — physically, hormonally, and emotionally. As your body adapts to support a growing baby, nearly every system is affected, including the pelvic floor. While pregnancy is a natural process, it also places unique demands on the muscles, joints, and connective tissues that support the pelvis.
From a pelvic floor physical therapy perspective, pregnancy is not just something to “get through.” It’s an opportunity to support your body, reduce discomfort, and set yourself up for a smoother delivery and postpartum recovery.
Preparing for birth
A pelvic floor that knows how to open as well as close.
One of the most valuable things pelvic floor PT can offer during pregnancy is birth preparation. Many people learn about Kegels during pregnancy — but the equally important skill is learning how to fully relax and lengthen the pelvic floor. During vaginal delivery, the pelvic floor needs to open, stretch, and yield. Practising this before birth can make a meaningful difference.
“A pelvic floor that knows how to relax is just as important as one that knows how to contract. Birth preparation teaches both.”

“What you do during pregnancy sets the foundation for how you recover after.”
